American Academy of Family Physicians
The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is a national association of more than 80,000 family physicians, family practice residents, and medical students. The Web site is divided into two sections: AAFP Online, an area for AAFP members that requires a password for access, and Family Medicine Online, a public area available to anyone who would like more information about the medical specialty of family practice. The public area also contains information about a wide range of health problems that family physicians are trained to manage. .
American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA)
The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) is a national organization that represents PAs in all specialties and all employment settings. Its membership also includes PA students and supporters of the profession. Includes postgraduate program listings.
American Board of Family Practice
The American Board of Family Practice's (ABFP) objective is to encourage excellence in medical care and believes that its certified family physicians have successfully demonstrated their ability and have proven their commitment to the public, the specialty of Family Practice and the profession. Information includes requirements for residency training, certification, and recertification. ABFP publications are listed. There is also a geographic search engine to find ABFP certified physicians.

This organization concentrates on Family Practice Residency training issues.
National Board of Medical Examiners
Contains information about licensing examinations and links to state boards.
Society of Teachers of Family Medicine
The Society was founded in 1967 to respond to the needs of family medicine educators. It has a membership of more than 4,000 teachers of family medicine. The administrative offices are housed with the American Academy of Family Physicians in Kansas City.

A regional association of primary care physicians.
The College of Family Physicians of Canada

WONCA World Organization of Family Doctors
WONCA is made up of national colleges, academies or organizations concerned with the academic aspects of general family practice. Beginning with 18 members in 1972, there are now 54 member organizations in 51 countries. In all, the total membership of the member organizations of WONCA is about 150,000 general practitioners or family physicians.
