European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM)
The European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) was created in 1985 by the merging of two nuclear medicine societies in Europe. Its members are physicians, scientists, technologists or other persons working in Nuclear Medicine or related fields. Since 2001 the EANM has an Executive Secretariat in Vienna, which takes care of the day-to-day operations of the Association under the governance of the Executive Committee. In 2003 the scope of EANM activities was expanded by creating an EANM educational facility in Vienna, which meanwhile offers courses on Clinical PET, Technologists PET courses, Neuroimaging courses and Therapy/Dosimetry courses. Lack of risk has been assumed because no adverse effects have been demonstrated clearly in humans. However, other evidence dictates that a hypothetical risk must be presumed with ultrasound. Like-wise, the efficacy of many uses of ultrasound in improving the management and outcome of pregnancy also has been assumed rather than demonstrated, especially its value as a routine screening procedure. |
